PROJECT TITLE:

Enhancing Drug Users’ Rights and Entitlements in Kosovo - ENDURE

OVERALL OBJECTIVE:

To facilitate an enabling environment to people from marginalized communities for realization of health, social and legal rights and inclusion in all processes of social life. SO1 To provide legal and psychological support to drug users wishing to impose their human rights under anti-discrimination legislation; SO2. To endorse behavior where human rights and freedom of drug users are equally respected and understood.

LOCATION:

All seven districts of Kosovo: Ferizaj, Gjakova, Gjilan, Mitrovica, Peja, Pristina, and Prizren.

BENEFICIARIES

-at least 20 high representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, Ministry of Health will be sensitized about HR violations of marginalized communities, stigmatization and discrimination issues -National and private universities representatives – professors and students will be involved in the public debates and trainings -Local NGOs (including Labyrinth) will benefit from increased skills development aimed at fostering anti-stigmatization and anti-discrimination policy and action -Local residents in the target area, benefiting from improved protection of their neighbours belonging to the vulnerable groups.

ACTIVITIES:

-Psychological Support -Legal Support -Strengthening capacities of various actors -Raising awareness on the rights of drug users.

RESULTS:

-ER1 Established functional support centre for drug users and their families for offering psychological and legal assistance. -ER2 Increased knowledge among drug users, families and relevant professionals and institutions about HR of drug users; -ER3 Increased promotion of HR, anti-discrimination and anti-stigmatization of drug users among relevant actors.

TARGET GROUP:

-at least 80 drug users (including 6 female drug users - peer to peer educators), will be involved in counselling sessions and will obtain legal and psychological support; -at least 20 representatives per family of drug users are trained and aware about anti-discrimination legal provisions and HR violations -at least 60 professionals dealing with marginalized communities (medical staff, health and care professionals, prison and police staff, professors and educators) are trained and gained skills to deal with people from marginalize communities.
